[FIXED] Supported Players Issue

Postby BIZARRE » Sun Apr 03, 2011 7:57 pm

Hi guys,

I'm not really sure which section of the forum to post this, whether it be the beta section, bug releases or what, but I am posting here as I'm using the latest beta as far as I understand 1.23.1 svn 1564.

The problem I am having is to do with the supported players section of advanced options. My pch-a100 isn't being recognised correctly as far as I can tell, even if it seems to be working fine. It shows up in the detected clients list as:

POP-402 01-17-110314-15-POP-402-000/15-POP 1100x656

I run mine at 1080p but as you can see it's not being picked up as that according to the list. Perhaps I'm not understanding this section of the config pages correctly, I thought when discovered clients were recognised they were then added to the supported players list (where they can then be removed if need be). However no such thing is happening in the case of my pch.

More than willing to help in any way I can, if indeed I can.

Your PCH is being recognised correctly. The resolution you mention is the browser resolution. Check the Support Info page for full details of your PCH. You will see something like:

Syabas/02-04-110308-21-POP-411-000/00-000 Firefox/0.8.0+ (gaya2 TV Res1920x1280; Browser Res1100x656-32bits; Res1280x720;

This says that it's outputting video at 1080p (1920x1280), the Browser Res is always 720p (1280x720) with a smaller viewable area (1100x656).

Do you have any players listed as Supported Players?

Hi there Pernod,

Nothing is showing up in the supported players list, it says there are no items to display. Until this afternoon my pch was running firmware from march 2010, I upgraded the firmware just incase that was the cause of the recognition.

Checking the support pages I found this:

Syabas/01-17-110314-15-POP-402-000/15-POP Firefox/0.8.0+ (gaya1 TV Res1920x1280; Browser Res1100x656-32bits; Res1280x720; mac_addr=00:06:dc:42:1b:e2)

I see the TV res is still out, anything else I can get info wise?

And PS thank you for such a speedy reply. I love you man :P

You should see a long list of supported players. Can you set logging to level 8 and navigate to the main menu on your TV, then post the logfile?

Checking the support pages I found this:

Syabas/01-17-110314-15-POP-402-000/15-POP Firefox/0.8.0+ (gaya1 TV Res1920x1280; Browser Res1100x656-32bits; Res1280x720; mac_addr=00:06:dc:42:1b:e2)

This is correct, The PCH incorrectly reports 1920x1280 when it should be 1920x1080.

And PS thank you for such a speedy reply. I love you man :P

But not enough to donate :(

If we fix this Pernod I sure as hell will donate, you've been good to me as a user over the time I've been here, it is about time I showed my appreciation properly.

Here's the part of the log I'm assuming is important. What I've cut out is a section about my default playlist (which swiss can't find the files to because they're currently not added).

Ok man, I'm gonna go reboot the pch and from there navigate to the main menu of my swiss center install with level 8 logging applied, after that anything else you wish me to do before I post the log itself?

No need anymore. I've found the issue and it's now fixed in SVN. Just do an update and check the Supported Players page.

Just done the update and not much has changed as far as I can see. What has changed is the position of the "there are no items to display" and remove selected players button. Originally they were at the top of the Supported Players page, now they are inside the box where you add a new player, but the list is still blank.

Btw I am also getting that hanging at completing upgrade screen. I'm having to completely restart the simese service to get it back up and running at that point.

I've not been able to reproduce the upgrade hanging. Now would be a good time to post the logfile since I hope you still had it set to level 8 for the update.

You'll never believe this, I gave the PCH a quick reboot, played around in a couple of menus started a film, stopped it, and then just put it into standby. I've just come back refreshed the log and seen adding player sections. Checked the supported players page and they're all there in a nice scrolling box with the editable fields below. Very very weird, would you still like the log?
