Istar can't see Swisscenter

Postby GiganticDays » Wed Mar 24, 2010 3:12 pm

Just moved all my media files onto my new media server which is running Ubuntu 9.10.
Got SC installed and seems to be running OK, media locations input and accepted, searched for media and found it all.

Just can't get my Istar to see Swisscenter, nor does the Istar appear in the "Clients Discovered" section.

I've disabled both firewalls (on the server and the router) for testing but it hasn't made any difference.

Any ideas anyone?

Apologies; I'm an idiot. I hadn't disbled UFW on the server at all. Once I did that I could access SC via the web services page (although not the sources page).

What port do I need to open in ufw?

and do I need to make any changes to broadcast.pl for my Istar?

OK. I've got the correct port open in ufw (8080) and I can now access SC from my Istar using the Web Services page.
Not ideal but it works.

Now I've come to set up my AC Ryan Playon I've come up against the same problem, except the Playon doesn't have the facility to manually enter the SC server ip/port they way the Istar does.

So I'm left with the broadcast.pl problem which I can't seem to solve.

Anyone know what I need to do?

I'd be interested to know whether the AC Ryan is actually compatible with SwissCenter. Keep us informed of your progress.

Sorry for the late reply. But the AC Ryan is not compatible with SC/ Pity as the gui is poor and YAMJ is a pain to implement on linux.
