Supported Players

Postby admin » Mon Feb 23, 2009 7:08 pm

I'd like to compile a list of players that are known to work with SwissCenter. Please could everyone post the players that they are using (if they have not already been posted) and possibly a few comments on how well SC works on them?

I'll update this list as we people post their experiences:

Players that work

Older Chipsets - Supports SD formats only with some internet radio
IO-Data Avel Linkplayer2
Netgear EVA700
Neuston Maestro M-500
Pinnacle Showcenter 1000/1000g
Pinnacle Showcenter 200
Pinnacle Showcenter 250
Transgear DVX 500E
Viewsonic HDMR-2000

HDX-900 NMT Player (Popcorn A100 firmware)

ISTAR HD mini 1.3
Popcorn Hour A100/A110

PCH 200 Series - Same as PCH 100 Series but also capable of Flash interface (in development)
Popcorn Hour A200/A210
Popcorn Hour C200

Players that might work (but have not been tested)

Linksys (Cicso) Kiss 1600

Players that have been tried and do NOT work.

Netgear MP101 (music only player)

IO-Data Avel Linkplayer2 DLNA - I have 2

and I noted that in the latest ubuntu it works like a dream.
I have an ubuntu touchscreen on my network and it acts like a mobile video player with SC. To clarify, I mean ubuntu as a client.

Hi Rob,

I might be worthwhile to increase the scope of the players list with server types (hardware and firmware/OS/server/PHP-version) to see which combinations work and which are not advisable.

Just a thought …

Klass - I agree, but I'll start a second thread for server configurations (as any player that works with one server config should work with any other server).
Server : Windows Home Server (HP MediaSmart EX470)
Player #1: Pinnacle Showcenter 200 (wired ethernet)
Player #2: Popcorn Hour A110 (wired ethernet)

Neuston Maestro M-500 no real problems to report

HDX-900 (flashed to Popcorn Hour A-100). I became tired of waiting for HDX to update the firmware so I flashed with the A-100 Jan firmware release. It also worked fine with Swisscenter when it was an HDX-900.

Using a Transgear DVX 500E. Drawback of this player is that it doesn't have a home button :) Other than that it works fine. Even though it's a 5-6 year old player it plays all formats without problems, execpt the high def stuff.

The MP101 is a music player only and since it doesn't have any video capabilities then it provides no way of navigating SwissCenter menus.

Hi, I can just confirm what you already know, that my ShowCenter 1000 works great with SwissCenter/Simese.

But as I've posted in the recent past, the new Beta 2.5... would not work at all so I had to go back to v1.47.

Hello,

I just created an account to let you know about another player that works with Swiss Center.

I've gotten my Viewsonic HDMR-2000 to work with your software. It's a huge improvement over the software the hardware came packaged with.

Thank you!
