So what's so good about version 1 of the SwissCenter software?
Aside from the many general ease-of-use improvements present in the SwissCenter software, what are the "killer" features which are useful in day-to-day operation? Having used the SwissCenter as a user on a more or less daily basis I may even have used it more than Rob :O)
I'm sure everyone will have a different opinion (especially Pinnacle!) but here are my personal favourite features, many of which had me thinking "if I wrote this interface, that would have to be in it"...
* When searching for that elusive track, artist or album name you can quickly switch your criteria to work as "the name starts with..." to "the name contains...", without losing your search
* Once you've found the track you wanted and now you fancy more of the same, tell the SwissCenter to play the entire album at the touch of a button
* Create, edit, save, and load media playlists to mix and match your media selection across albums, artists, genres or even media types. You can construct playlists from your PC, for example via WinAmp. As playlists are in m3u format, you can use existing m3u playlists too.
* Play media direct from your PC's web browser. Finding other media managers inflexible, cumbersome, even ugly? Play it via the SwissCenter directly on your PC!
* Live Weather Information. No need to check your barometer, and you can view a five day forecast. Handy for checking what's happening at your next holiday destination as well as at home.
* Browse your media file system folders directly. Is your media collection already ultra organised? Take advantage of your existing structure and browse directly through your folders.
* Display of Album art. A nice touch which, with the advent of automated cover art download software, doesn't require hours of scanning your CD album covers.
There are more innovative and genuinely useful features in the pipeline. Let's hope Rob hasn't got any more holidays booked :)
