Thats great news, thanks for considering it, while you are at it, may i repeat my desire to filter movies and tv series view in the configuration page by missing synopsis (synopsis is null), this is hopefully not hard to do and would really help to complete metadata more quickly instead of having to look at each and every entry to see if it got details or not. I am not certain if maybe additional filters may be helpfull like DETAILS_AVAILABLE='N'. But i am sure about synopsis is null.

You can already do this, although I've not had any trouble with TVDB without it. There's no option in the interface yet but you can set this in Edit System Settings and add a new setting:
Name: TVSERIES_CONVERT_DOTS_TO_SPACES
Value: YES
 Perfect, this worked for me.
I had trouble with a few german titles of rather old tv series, enabling this option solved this for me. However TVDB is unreachable today for some reason today, so i cant further test at the moment.
Player : Pinnacle ShowCenter 250HD (wired)
Server : XP Pro SP2+ (Simese 1.45, SwissCenter current SVN)
