video jerky - 2008/08/08 20:41 I'm running on Vista Home Premium 32 bit, Core 2 Duo 2 GB RAM using a wireless G network to connect to a Pinnacle 1000g box.

Video can be playing fine, no jerks, no dropped frames, sound all good when suddenly the video stops, and sometimes even the sounds stops.
Its like the buffer runs out or something?

Where can I look to see what's causing it. Its really annoying...just when something good is happening, like a chase scene, the video stutters and it gets all jerky. I only know its sorting itself out when the sound starts playing continuously again and eventually the video catches up and it all runs smoothly.

I've checked the network stats - I'm not doing anything else on the network and I can download at 3 MB/s so I should be able to stream media?

Re: video jerky - 2008/08/08 20:52 Video streaming over wireless is very inconsistent. I used it that way for a while and had similar issues. You would have a better experience with a wired connection. Popcorn Hour connected to Panny TH-50PX77U
Buffalo BLT connected to Sharp LCD
Snazio NetCinema 1310 - not connected

Re: video jerky - 2008/08/09 06:29 This is a common problem with wireless networks... I think the earlier boxes had a very small cache and the problem with wireless networks isn't so much the speed as the latency that causes the problems.

If you can't run a cable to the showcenter, then lots of users in the forums have had excellent results with the Powerline adaptors such as those made by Netgear
