Popcorn doesn't play my Xvids! - 2008/07/14 18:37Got lotsa ShowCenters, 1000B and G and 200 and 250, and just today my A-100 arrived (are you out there stu2j?) but while it picked-up and played (from SwissCenter) a 1080p h264 transport stream just fine, none of my Xvids play without extreme blockiness, both low res SD and hi res HD Xvids.
Anyone here have an idea for me? Very puzzling as the older Sigma Designs players work great with these?

Re: Popcorn doesn't play my Xvids! - 2008/07/14 22:28You guys are fast--yes I am using SC with Simese and I've just noted that using Windows XP sharing allows my vids to play. So I will figure-out why my SC isn't right (I thought I had the latest?).

Re: Popcorn doesn't play my Xvids! - 2008/07/14 22:58Well, I tried just updating the simese.exe and that didn't work, so then I DL'ed the entire Simese_SwissCenter-1.45.exe and installed THAT and of course it blasted-away my database!
Worse still, it didn't fix the blockiness.
Any other ideas, or am I stuck with the simple SMB folder hierarchy...

Maybe the "back porting" was incomplete, but...I see by your sig that you are using 1.45 and a PCH so I guess it works for you--maybe there's something about my older firmware perhaps.
In any case I will use this simese, and also start using SC beta releases as well. Thanks for your help.

It does looks like it plays, but the stream is corrupt. Yep, that was my experience--it plays very "blocky" i.e. unwatchable.
BTW I'm using the last debug version posted in that thread; in "properties" it reads a 2.04.21 IIRC and on SC Test page it shows 2.05.
It's working now of course but I will watch that thread for further developments--I also have GB-PVR and tuner but haven't yet done anything with PCH as I've only had PCH for a day or two..

My intent wasn't to get people to try GB-PVR, I am trying to see if there might be a why to share Simese so two web servers wouldn't be needed for those that do use both. Unfortunately with the Internet Radio bug I still can't recommend Simese as a solution.
