additional browsing options for music videos - 2008/06/27 15:32Hi Admins,
Quite a large part of my video collections consists of music videos. For browsing purposes I would like a additional table for “bands / artists” like the existing tables “actors” and “actors in movies”. Is this possible?

There is a site for pretty much everything. Re: additonal browsing options for music videos - 2008/06/27 16:15Indeed, it should and there're quite a lot, but most of them are pretty lousy like. The best I found so far is MVDbase; the site is limited and unfortunately doesn't contain many live registrations.

Re: additonal browsing options for music videos - 2008/06/27 17:15Futher to my first post: it would be great when the "video_selected"-screen for music videos would get a different lay-out; somelike the "music_selected"-screen, where info is listed as band/artiest, title, year, genre, (short) synopsis and playing time, would be nice.

We'd probably need to identify artist and track from the filename. Although there's a lot of videos available through YouTube, I still have lots of longer music videos and live registrations, which are unavailable on YouTube. So, I would welcome a separate music video parser, however, I'm not sure about MVDBase as only individual music clips are kept in their DB; eg details live registrations aren't kept. But even with this limitation, I'm still in favour of this parser.
I have named my music videos: Artist - Track (year).avi.

Re: additonal browsing options for music videos - 2010/03/18 18:48With live registrations I mean concerts, eg Deep Purple - Live at Montreux (1996) you can find on IMDB here, but you won't find it on MVDBase (see here).
But again, MVDBase shows single track information, which is a nice addition to IMDB where many live registrations and other full music videos can be found. IMDB doesn't have info on individual video clips.
