Media Locations on Root network share - 2008/06/08 03:03 The media locations configuration screen does not recognise a root share path as a valid directory to process.

My shares are:

\\SERVER\Video\TV Series
\\SERVER\Video\Films
\\SERVER\Music\A\All "A" Artists
\\SERVER\Music\B\All "B" Artists ... etc

When I try to add "\\SERVER\Music" so I get all my music the error is
"I'm sorry, the directory you specified does not exist"

I don't really want to add 26+ directories to the media locations!

C:/Dokumente und Einstellungen/Carsten/Eigene Dateien/Eigene Musik is working
\\carsten\Eigene Musik does not work, but is the same directory as above ShowCenter 1000 / PopCorn Hour A-100
SwissCenter 1.20.1 SVN1109 / Simese 2.07

I don't think it's a bug, but you should enter your logon credentials for your server in Windows XP "SimeseServer"-service. Then the paths will be recognised.

Re: Media Locations on Root network share - 2008/07/23 06:35 Nope, it's definitely a bug. Has nothing to do with user access or permissions.
Please read the original post again before commenting.

I can access the files, as has been proven by accessing the sub-directories and files in those directories.

The PHP function file_exists is returning false so it's PHP that cannot access the folder. In your php.ini do you have safe_mode enabled?

Can you let us know which PHP you are using and also post the few lines of your logfile when you try to add the folder. Player : Netgear EVA700 & Popcorn A-100 (081106)
Server : Vista SP1 Home Premium (Simese 2.07, SwissCenter current SVN)
Spec : Intel C2Q Q6600, 2GB RAM, 1Tb storage.

Re: Media Locations on Root network share - 2008/09/23 10:32 I'm new here in this forum. It's a great software! Thanks a lot. Sorry if my english is not so good.

I have the same problem as User Omertron.
I can add the root to the media folder. Folder doesn't exist. Example like this:

\\dt\video0 (not working)

but if I do like this:

\\dt\video0\Bond

it works and the folder will be added. What do I wrong. Thanks for your help folks!

PS It's the best streaming software I ever had. No problems with about 2TB Mp3 Files. It works very quick
