SuSE 10.3 install problems - 2008/05/30 15:57 Hi

I'm running a SuSE 10.3 system and tried to install swisscenter but ran into problems with some simple configurations.
I've already used the search function but couldn't find help!

My system:
OS: SuSE 10.3
PHP: v5.2.5
MySQL-Version 5.0.45

I've copied the extrected files to /srv/www/swisscenter, changed all permissions to wwwrun:www, added a virtual host and restartet the apache2 and mysql server.

When I open the config page (http://localhost:8001/config/) I receive an error:

Die folgenden Tests waren erfolgreich:

* SwissCenter wurde nicht als 'root' User durchgeführt.
* Kann lesend und schreibend auf das SwissCenter Installationsverzeichnis zugreifen.
* Logging aktiviert.

Die folgenden Tests schlugen fehl:

* Kann die Datei 'swisscenter.ini' nicht finden.
Haben Sie schon eine SwissCenter Datenbank angelegt?

I've checked all swisscenter subfolders but there's no swisscenter.ini

Why?

Can someone help with?

regards
shrek

Re: SuSE 10.3 install problems - 2008/05/30 16:26 Hi Shrek,

as what I have observed the swisscenter.ini file will only be written by SC in the /config directory after you have generated the database.

However, since you still have the reported problems you are not getting to the menu point where SC asks you to generate the database.

For me it seems that you still have problems with the rights to access files.

Unfortunetely, I am not experienced with LINUX at all.

I followed Klaas guide to install SC on the LINUX OS coming with the Synology NAS DS207+ (OS=BusyBox V1.1.0), therefore some of his installation steps might work on your installation as well. I guess step 6 could address your problem.

I am not sure whether this will help you, but at least you could give it a try!

Good luck!

Joe

Re: SuSE 10.3 install problems - 2008/06/07 17:45 I tried to install Swisscenter on Suse 10.3 64 bit. All seemed to go ok until i try to access the config page at the local host. When I did that i got the first 25% of the page loading up and that was that. Still have not figured it out.

Check /etc/apache2/uid.conf match with wwwrun,

Please dump output of command

ls -la /srv/www/swisscenter

Also post your apache swisscenter host definition,
