Hi Klaas,
no, I havenīt tried /video_synopsis.php
However I found, that the videos are sorted correctly into the defined catagories, what you can check if you go to SC Configuration Utility - Media Management - Edit video details and then select the desired category.
And you will be surprised, I guess, the videos are sorted correctly.
That means the fault is IMHO somewhere else, for me it seems in the section, where you select the videos for playback.
I have in the meantime copied all SC 1.20 files across the 1.20.1 files, and suddenly the video problem is gone!
