Changeset 989 - 2008/05/14 21:54 I ran through these and setting it to random had no effect. Comparing the following options (found in another thread) to the code it appears there might be an error. Code "0" is no effect while Code "9" is random.

// $effect = 0 -> no effect
// $effect = 1 -> fade from top to bottom
// $effect = 2 -> fade from bottom to top
// $effect = 3 -> fade from middle to edges (horz.)
// $effect = 4 -> fade from edges to middle (horz.)
// $effect = 5 -> fade left half of pic from bottom to top, right half of pic from top to bottom
// $effect = 6 -> fade right half of pic from bottom to top, left half of pic from top to bottom
// $effect = 7 -> jalousie (horz.)
// $effect = 8 -> diming (standard)
// $effect >= 9 -> random

Edit:

Confirmed. I went into expert options -> system settings and set the photo transition to 9 and got the random effect.

Re: Changeset 989 - 2008/05/14 22:18 Popcorn hour doesn't appear to support this either

(Of course, watching photos on the Popcorn is a painful experience anyway)

Re: Changeset 989 - 2008/05/15 06:37 I'll change 0 to No Effect and add 9 as Random.

Do the other descriptions match the effect you're seeing? Different players may have different effects.

Re: Changeset 989 - 2008/05/15 07:14 It changes between players - Not all players support all the same effects, nor are they in the same order

Pernod - another reason to implement your XML "hardware player" profile idea!
