Changeset 960 - tvdb - 2008/03/30 16:44This parser enables banners and images for each episode etc. If I select the "refresh all" with this parser to get all the new stuff, will it only refresh the TV Series info or all of the video information?Showcenters 1000g/200/250HD Popcorn Hour A-100 Netgear HDX101 Powerline Adapters Windows XP Simese 2.07 running latest SVN NAS Server IBM NetVista 900Mhz/256RAM

Re: Changeset 960 - tvdb - 2008/03/30 19:13OK.. did the refresh...
With respect this parser..
1) At first it did not pick up the Outer Limits (1995) named that way for the epguides parser. Removing the (1995) fixed it and it picked it up. However, for this series, it only grabbed a single actor (same one) for every episode.
2) While it picked up the year for some (Outer Limits, Terminator, etc) it did not for others (Star Trek, Twilight Zone, etc). It appears to have done a great job with everything else.
3) Outer Limits... it picked up "Deja Vu" as "The Sandkings" .. can't imagine how that happened.Showcenters 1000g/200/250HD Popcorn Hour A-100 Netgear HDX101 Powerline Adapters Windows XP Simese 2.07 running latest SVN NAS Server IBM NetVista 900Mhz/256RAM

Re: Changeset 960 - tvdb - 2008/03/30 19:56The data at TVDb is still in it's infancy. They have made quite a few changes recently which I why I decided to hold onto my parser until things had settled down a bit. One of the things currently being discussed is the naming of series with the same name such as 'Outer Limits'. You may find that in a few weeks they change it to 'Outer Limits (2005)'. There is also only one actor stored there so that's all you get.
All users of this parser are encouraged to join TVDb.com and add/improve data for all series they are interested in. This way we support their work and improve the results returned for other SwissCenter users.
How did the banner work out on your NTSC screen?
I don't see an 'Outer Limits' episode named 'Deja Vu', but there's two 'The Sandkings'. Nothing stopping you from correcting this if you know it's wrong.Player : Netgear EVA700 & Popcorn A-100 (081106) Server : Vista SP1 Home Premium (Simese 2.07, SwissCenter current SVN) Spec : Intel C2Q Q6600, 2GB RAM, 1Tb storage.

Later... Deja Vu is season 5 episode 16 and this is correct online. For some reason, the parser picked it up as Season 1 Episode 1
Could the symbols in the file name be screwing it up?

Re: Changeset 960 - tvdb - 2008/03/30 20:31the banners are TINY.. Hmm, I was afraid of that. They're not too bad on a PAL screen. Am open to suggestions on where they can be used more effectively.
The symbols in 'Déjà Vu' could be the problem. Could you post a log of a scan on just this episode? If you had S05E16 in the filename you should be okay. The problem could be with TVDb but the log extract should confirm where the problem is.Player : Netgear EVA700 & Popcorn A-100 (081106) Server : Vista SP1 Home Premium (Simese 2.07, SwissCenter current SVN) Spec : Intel C2Q Q6600, 2GB RAM, 1Tb storage.

Here's a screen shot of the result (you can see the file name simply doesn't match the title at all). Of course, the cure is to manually enter the season and episode and it will pick up the correct info.

Re: Changeset 960 - tvdb - 2008/03/30 22:20Uh oh... I was editing the Star Trek series for the date and noticed that it got every single episode in season 1 wrong (it appears to get back on track with seasons 2 and 3). Take a look at this screen shot. The titles and file names aren't a match:
Edit: Is it possible that it didn't clear the season and episode when I did the refresh? Episode 1 is defined differently on tvdb than it is on epguides.Showcenters 1000g/200/250HD Popcorn Hour A-100 Netgear HDX101 Powerline Adapters Windows XP Simese 2.07 running latest SVN NAS Server IBM NetVista 900Mhz/256RAM

Re: Changeset 960 - tvdb - 2008/03/31 06:45Is it possible that it didn't clear the season and episode when I did the refresh? Episode 1 is defined differently on tvdb than it is on epguides. Yes, since the season and episode numbers are already set in your db then it will search using these details, if no match is made with these then it tries again with the episode title. What you have is a conflict of information. The epguides parser works in the same way. To force it to match by title you should multi-edit your season 1 episodes and set the episode to something that doesn't exist, ie. 99. Then when you Refresh it will be forced to match by title since episode 99 does not exist.
According to your log the 'Déjà Vu' episode matched by 71.43%, anything under 75% is not considered a match. It should've simply said no match available but instead just took the first from the list. I'll fix this. Does the epguides parser find the match? Both epguides and TVDb list the episiode as 'Deja Vu', the official Outer Limits site does too!
I'll look into the dates issue.Player : Netgear EVA700 & Popcorn A-100 (081106) Server : Vista SP1 Home Premium (Simese 2.07, SwissCenter current SVN) Spec : Intel C2Q Q6600, 2GB RAM, 1Tb storage.

Re: Changeset 960 - tvdb - 2008/03/31 09:12Yes, since the season and episode numbers are already set in your db then it will search using these details I think for purposes of switching parsers, the best solution is not to do a media refresh but rather to completely remove all the media from the database and then re-scan for it. I've switched back to epguides and when you release a new tvdb parser, that is how I am going to test it.
Does the epguides parser find the match? Both epguides and TVDb list the episiode as 'Deja Vu', Just tested this and no.. epguides reports "no match". That file needs to be re-named.
I'll look into the dates issue. Thanks. Sometimes things that seem random are not. That error message made me realize that it only missed the dates on any pre 70s series.Showcenters 1000g/200/250HD Popcorn Hour A-100 Netgear HDX101 Powerline Adapters Windows XP Simese 2.07 running latest SVN NAS Server IBM NetVista 900Mhz/256RAM

Re: Changeset 960 - tvdb - 2008/03/31 19:55Hooray and Hootzah... we have success
Test 1: Update with Epguides and then try wtih tvdb..
No errors and date is there.
Test 2: Media refresh all data to see if it picks up dates...
Works like a champ.
I do believe you have a working parser
Question:
If I delete the title banners because they don't look good right now, is it going to re-download them?Showcenters 1000g/200/250HD Popcorn Hour A-100 Netgear HDX101 Powerline Adapters Windows XP Simese 2.07 running latest SVN NAS Server IBM NetVista 900Mhz/256RAM

Re: Changeset 960 - tvdb - 2008/03/31 20:09If I delete the title banners because they don't look good right now, is it going to re-download them? Yes, they will be redownloaded.
To remove them you'll have to edit page.php around line 73:
The 60 is the height available for the title on an NTSC screen, you'll see that we have 170 for PAL which makes the image half decent. Increasing this 60 will probably make your page too big for the screen. Really don't know what I can do about it Player : Netgear EVA700 & Popcorn A-100 (081106) Server : Vista SP1 Home Premium (Simese 2.07, SwissCenter current SVN) Spec : Intel C2Q Q6600, 2GB RAM, 1Tb storage.

Re: Changeset 960 - tvdb - 2008/04/01 05:13What do people think about the idea of quality of tv show metadata. Such that any user modified data would not be over written by a data refresh. I can see each parser beeing given a score.
Lets use integers as the score

Re: Changeset 960 - tvdb - 2008/04/01 06:16But what if I have a different opinion than someone else.
Neither is right or maybe the consensus is that I am wrong. However on my system I want my data to be authoritative.-- Server: Debian 4.0, Ram: 3 gig , Disc : 5 TB Client: Buffalo LinkTheatre, dLAN 200 AV MySQL 5.0.32-Debian_7etch1-log
