this
http://www.ofdb.de/ is a imdb like geman movie database, perhaps interesting for german swiss user, because it work with german movie-names and has a crossover links to imdb.
If someone code a php-script to grab the infos let me know.

I've quickly put together this parser for you. My only concern is it's reliability to find the correct movie.

thank you very much indeed for your support! It works quite well, but take a look on the screen. Although I can get the movie detail an error message is created.

After updating the movie details SC now shows correctly the DVD cover (downloaded from OFDB, I assume).2x SC200 (wired), SwissCenter latest SVN, Simese 1.40 http://www.knecht-ruprecht.info

I checked the website regarding permission but it's not totally clear how they would handle such a case (http://www.ofdb.de/view.php?page=faq#a32). Should I send them an email explaining the facts?

But on some Fils for example this "Der Geist und die Dunkelheit" I get only this Synopsis "Wieder und wieder bekam der begeisterte Kinogänger in den letzten Monaten den Trailer zu I Am Legend zu sehen, einem prestigeträchtigen 150 Mio... [mehr]" , no Cover no other Information. The half of the Filmshave this problem. In ofdb I found the infos with name well http://www.ofdb.de/view.php?page=film&fid=3388

It just happens with some films (can't see any rule or regularity)
The films are definitively in ofdb.de
The files are named exactly as their title in ofdb.de
The (wrong) synopsys will always have the same text 'Wieder und wieder bekam der begeisterte Kinogänger (...)' btw this text can be found on the entry page of ofdb.de under 'Unser aktueller Review-Tip'
For example: a film with the title 'Rangoon - Im Herzen des Sturms.mpg' (short title 'Rangoon', English title 'Beyond Rangoon' will not be found.
Any ideas?

the OFDB Parser does not work well here. As a synopsis with every single movie the following text is being displayed:
"Thank god for teenage pregnancy!", resümierte Oscarmoderator Jon Stewart scherzhaft beim Blick auf die nominierten Filme des Kinojahres 2007, die sich in ihrer Schwermütigkeit selbst zu übertreffen schienen... [mehr]
Cover images aren't displayed either. All other details (Cast, year, length...) are parsed correctly.
I'm using Swisscenter Version 1.19.2. Also tried the last ofdb.php posted in the forum, but that did not help.
As you can see the special German characters ä, ö, ü (umlauts) are messed up They don't work in file titles, either. Is there a patch available?
The IMDB parser works great, but doesn't find most of my movies because they have german titles. Perhaps it could be adjusted to work with german.imdb.com?

It looks like they've changed the url of images and plot details, text is also now utf8 encoded.

First the MySQL database seems to be created with charset Latin1 and that would need to be altered to UTF-8. The same goes for the tables within it which seem to have charset Latin1 coded as well and would need to be altered to UTF-8.
In addition, whatever web server you are running would need to be told to serve pages in UTF-8 - for Apache that's quite easy but I have no idea if Simese is configured out of the box to be UTF-8 compatible.
