Suggesten to improve performance - 2009/10/25 12:34
Currently working with a style... I was thinking... The section specific backgrounds, couldn't they be replaced with just smaller icons? So instead of having separate images for every page you have the same background image, and where the images earlier differed, icons/clipart is overlayed instead?
For example, on my work-in-progress style I have a dark background with some diffuse details and on every page possible, I have placed an GNU licensed PNG icons depicting the page (on page Watch a TV Show the icon is a TV, on Watch a Movie the icon is perhaps a container of popcorn, a film strip, a directors chair or something). All those images are now pasted ontop of the background, so the SwissCenter and ShowCenter has to load the background image everytime.
With my suggestion, only the small icons has to be loaded, as the background image never have to change.
I hope my post makes sense...
