Supported Players - 2009/02/23 13:08I'd like to compile a list of players that are known to work with SwissCenter. Please could everyone post the players that they are using (if they have not already been posted) and possibly a few comments on how well SC works on them?
I'll update this list as we people post their experiences:
Players that work Buffalo LinkTheater HDX-900 NMT Player (Original firmware) HDX-900 NMT Player (Popcorn A100 firmware) HDX-1000 IO-Data Avel Linkplayer2 ISTAR HD mini 1.3 Netgear EVA700 Neuston Maestro M-500 Pinnacle Showcenter 1000/1000g Pinnacle Showcenter 200 Pinnacle Showcenter 250 Popcorn Hour A100 Popcorn Hour A110 Transgear DVX 500E Viewsonic HDMR-2000
Players that might work (but have not been tested) Linksys (Cicso) Kiss 1600
Players that have been tried and do NOT work. Netgear EVA8000 Netgear MP101 (music only player)
Rob Server : Windows Home Server (HP MediaSmart EX470) Player #1: Pinnacle Showcenter 200 (wired ethernet) Player #2: Popcorn Hour A110 (wired ethernet)

Re: Supported Players - 2009/02/23 18:36Hi Rob,
I might be worthwhile to increase the scope of the players list with server types (hardware and firmware/OS/server/PHP-version) to see which combinations work and which are not advisable.
Just a thought …

Re: Supported Players - 2009/02/24 05:31Neuston Maestro M-500 no real problems to report
HDX-900 (flashed to Popcorn Hour A-100). I became tired of waiting for HDX to update the firmware so I flashed with the A-100 Jan firmware release. It also worked fine with Swisscenter when it was an HDX-900._______________________________________________________ Neuston MC-500 & HDX 900 | Centos5 | Dell SC440 | 3.0 Tb

Re: Supported Players - 2009/02/24 16:08Using a Transgear DVX 500E. Drawback of this player is that it doesn't have a home button Other than that it works fine. Even though it's a 5-6 year old player it plays all formats without problems, execpt the high def stuff.

The MP101 is a music player only and since it doesn't have any video capabilities then it provides no way of navigating SwissCenter menus.Players : Netgear EVA700 | Popcorn A-100 (091202) | Popcorn A-200 (100208) Webserver : Simese v2.6.4 | Apache 2.2.14 | PHP v5.2.12 | MySQL v5.1.32 Server : Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Spec : Intel C2Q Q6600 - 4GB RAM - 3TB HDD AV : Pioneer VSX-915 | Samsung LE40C650

you're adding so many cool features, e.g. Internet TV, Youtube support and so on - I think my good ol' Showcenter is a bit outdated as it won't support many of these
Let me ask: What device can you recommend, which uses all SC features?2x SC200 (wired), SwissCenter latest SVN, Simese 2.57 http://www.knecht-ruprecht.info

Re: Supported Players - 2010/02/10 09:09One more media player: Dune BD Prime 3.0 The chipset is a Sigma Designs 8642.
From what I read this is a more stable and responsive system compared to the popcorn A-200 & C-200. (especially the remote control)
Also the blue ray license is permanent while the popcorn players expire every 1.5 year and need to be renewed via firmware upgrade which is not guaranteed to happen.
So this might be a better choice if yoy want a media player with a blue ray player.
