Re: Streaming ISO's from the SC system? - 2008/10/07 21:53
The ISO's do not have to be on the PCH internal HD.
I poked apart the DVD Video code, and it translates a SMB or NFS share to a local URL on the PCH. Can it be changed to a NFS or SMB reference to another server? The local URL on the PCH is the mount point where the SMB/NFS share is mounted. SwissCenter then sends this URL to the PCH in order to play the ISO.
If you can play the ISO from the PCH using the network share then SwissCenter will also be able to play it. There is no need to poke at the code, it already does what you want.
In SwissCenter add a media location that points to the same location as the network share you have setup the PCH, then assign it the relevant network share from the dropdown. Run a media search, then you'll be able to play the ISO from SwissCenter.
