Updated Epguides.com Parser - 2008/09/27 12:47I was adding a batch of TV episodes to my media server when I noticed two things. One, it appears that TheTVDB.com is down for the count, and two, TV.com changed the layout of the page that Epguides.com servers up when asked about an episode.
Epguides still worked (for the most part) for everything but the program synopsis and the air date. Being the meta-data junkie I am, I set about fixing the problems with the parser. After a couple of hours of trial and error, I got it going. I have attached the new version of the parser (which I version-bumped to 1.4) to this message. Just replace the existing version with this one, and you'll be in business.

Re: Updated Epguides.com Parser - 2008/11/04 10:34Ok, here's a new version. It's been updated to work with the new layout for director, actors, and year fields. If you run into any other issues, let me know and i;ll see about a fix.
And as far as why I would use EpGuides over TheTVDB, it comes down to being able to find episodes TVDB doesn't have details for. TVDB is my default, but if I can't find episode info there, EpGuides is my backup plan so it's nice to have a working parser...
