Hi sorry to pick your brains again but i have been thinking of setting up a spare machine ( an old 2.4Ghz P4 )to act as a dedicated divx crunching box. This would allow me to use my current pc for dayto day stuff and as the SC media centre, without slowing it down. I wonder has anyone got any tips as to how i can get this pc whci h would only be accessed remotely and would modify files on the main machine to work as efficently as possible ,i,e, leave as much processing power as possible with minimal system overheads. It woudl be running windows xp pro and has 1Gb ram. Aloo i guess the best way to link this to my other machine is by 10/100 network either with xover cable or through a router.
