Import XML and Umlauts - 2008/09/22 16:02I'm playing around with the XML import of the movie/series details and I discovered the following:
Special signs (i.e. Umlauts) are wrongly imported into a new database, e.g. "Gebrüder Grimm" translates to "Gebrüder Grimm".2x SC200 (wired), SwissCenter latest SVN, Simese 1.40 http://www.knecht-ruprecht.info

KMan Hmm, I'll doublecheck.
I created the database several times yesterday and today and the meta data was always read from the XML. Running the SVN 1089 I could not find any wrong characters. But I'll check again as I've had different prorities in my last tests 2x SC200 (wired), SwissCenter latest SVN, Simese 1.40 http://www.knecht-ruprecht.info

Re: Import XML and Umlauts - 2008/09/23 14:54Finally, I re-created the DB nce again. Imported my settings and did a media search w/o refreshing meta data, so the XML file will be taken instead.
It works like a charm: Gebrüder Grimm and König Leonidas are properly encoded. Umlauts are fine for me. 2x SC200 (wired), SwissCenter latest SVN, Simese 1.40 http://www.knecht-ruprecht.info

My movies are properly imported but I still have problems with the meta data for TV series.
I don't know why but TV series still show the wrong encoding although the XML is fine.2x SC200 (wired), SwissCenter latest SVN, Simese 1.40 http://www.knecht-ruprecht.info

n.p. upD8R, i actually only testet with tv series since i know in which episodes the problem exists. i havent checked a single movie yet. but i am relieved that it is not a "personal" problem of mine !
