Req: Checking for Details in Sequence - 2008/09/05 09:19Hi,
i dont know if this has been suggested before but i would find it a great addition if it would be possible so select a sequence in which sites are asked for details of a tv series or movie, so if the first doesnt give a usable result, the second is queried and so on until either a usable result is returned or the list ends.
i found several times that my prefered source didnt return something but another did. so this would ease life not to having to check each site manually.
Kind Regards

Re: Req: Checking for Details in Sequence - 2008/09/05 12:16I think it's been mentioned but considering most of the available parsers return different languages (exceptions being IMDB/DVDloc8 and TVDB/epguides) then it would be considerable effort for little gain.
I don't consider DVDloc8 and epguides being all that useful anymore anyway as IMDB and TVDB are the preferred and easily the most comprehensive parsers.

Re: Req: Checking for Details in Sequence - 2008/09/05 12:55 o.k.
but i was considering there might be future parsers e.g. for amazon, and i was thinking about a list kind of selection where you can select which parsers to use at all.
Besides i'd rather live with an englisch synopsis if no german one is available (for me that is) instead of having none....
Anyways this brings me back to my request from my 1st post, at least let me query several item in one go with a selected parser, that would really help.
And if its not too much to asked, is it possible to remove dots from a series title before sending it to tvdb ? while epguides works with the doted title, tvdb doesnt.
Kind Regards

You can already do this, although I've not had any trouble with TVDB without it. There's no option in the interface yet but you can set this in Edit System Settings and add a new setting:
Name: TVSERIES_CONVERT_DOTS_TO_SPACES Value: YESPlayer : Netgear EVA700 & Popcorn A-100 (081106) Server : Vista SP1 Home Premium (Simese 2.07, SwissCenter current SVN) Spec : Intel C2Q Q6600, 2GB RAM, 1Tb storage.

Thats great news, thanks for considering it, while you are at it, may i repeat my desire to filter movies and tv series view in the configuration page by missing synopsis (synopsis is null), this is hopefully not hard to do and would really help to complete metadata more quickly instead of having to look at each and every entry to see if it got details or not. I am not certain if maybe additional filters may be helpfull like DETAILS_AVAILABLE='N'. But i am sure about synopsis is null.

Perfect, this worked for me. I had trouble with a few german titles of rather old tv series, enabling this option solved this for me. However TVDB is unreachable today for some reason today, so i cant further test at the moment.Player : Pinnacle ShowCenter 250HD (wired) Server : XP Pro SP2+ (Simese 1.45, SwissCenter current SVN) Spec : Intel Pentium D830 (DualCore) 3GHz, 2GB RAM
