Skin Development - 2008/09/14 09:12 Hello,
I installed swisscenter for the first time on my XP-PC. I use it at the moment with my showcenter 1000, I orderd a popcornhopur. Now my question. What's to do to make a onw skin. Are there some templates available or is there an docmentation of how to?

Second question, I have an 16:9 TV, this TV zooms 4.3 intelligent to 16:9 (cuts a little bit on top and bottom and zooms in wide). In the swisscenter menues I have thterfore the problem, that on top something is missing. In my opinion it would work correct, if the menues would have a 16:9 format. Are there skins in this format or have I to make them myself.
Thanks a lot.

Just take a look at one of the style folders and it should make sense. You will see all of the image files that can be replaced and it will have the style.ini file that can be edited.

Re: Skin Development - 2008/09/15 06:22 Hello,
the skins seem all to have a 4:3 ratio (1024*768). I could change the jpg's for background and so on to a ratio of 16:9. But how are the menue-buttons to be placed. Have they always to be at the same absolute position? And what's the position?
Thanks

Re: Skin Development - 2008/09/15 06:58 The background images are resized to the resolution of the output of the player being used. Some players even automatically stretch the background for you.

The menu items do not have a fixed absolute position. This is determined by the alignment defined in the HTML. Menu items can be aligned left, center, or right. See style.ini for example.

Font sizes are determined depending on output resolution of player, and each player may produce slightly different results.

If you were thinking of producing a skin with borders around text and menus then I wouldn't recommend it as it may only be suitable for the player is was designed with. It's better to design skins which are more generic and flexible like the Sykik and Cyberlink themes.
