Signed INT(11) for filesize? - 2006/05/15 14:28
Is there a reason why SIGNED INT(11) is used for filesizes in the database?
The max filesize this can cope with is 2GB. UNSIGNED would double that, or use of the BIGINT datatype would allow filesizes up to 8 million terabytes (ie near enough unlimited for our purposes).
PS: Sorry, I seem to be monopolising this forum. Is this the right place to be?
