PHP-script for automatic MySQL DB updata - 2008/06/21 14:18 Hi all,

SwissCenter uses a php-script to run MySQL-scripts saved in separate files for updating the DB.

In order to update my database automatically – eg after recreating a new database – I’m looking for a simple, but similar script. Updates are related to eg media locations or categories. Export of settings is not possible with a DS.

So, who can help or provide me with the info where to find this in the SwissCenter files.

Not sure what you're asking for here, are you looking for an alternative to the export/import settings? If it is then I may have the fix for you in your other thread.

Yep, indeed it was meant as an alternative to the export/import of settings. Although this issue looks to be solved, it is still interesting to know which PHP-script triggers the DB patching of the files in "/database" and how it works.

Re: PHP-script for automatic MySQL DB updata - 2008/08/01 17:00 Here you’ll find an example of a simple php-script enabling you to update your SwissCenter DB automatically.

It can be handy tool for all (returning) DB changes you have to do manually, like linking movies split into different files, update personal video synopsis etc.

NOTE: apply this script only after you have adjusted it to your own wishes; simply applying the EXAMPLE script or parts of it may serious distort your DB!!!
