Stream with SC interface - 2007/11/15 10:07 This is what I'm trying to accomplish.

My kids have a portable DVD player that they take from room to room in the house. My thought was to get a Tablet PC and stream the movies so they wouldn't have to use DVDs. I like the SC interface and they are already using it on the TVs. Any ideas on how to make it so they could use the SC interface with the Tablet PC?

Re: Stream with SC interface - 2007/11/15 14:32 If I understand the problem correctly, SwissCenter wasn't designed to do what you are trying to accomplish. PC to PC streaming is easily accomplished (using WMP11 or something similar) without the need for anything else. SwissCenter was designed for PC to TV media streaming.

Of course if I have buggered my understanding of this, just let me know

Re: Stream with SC interface - 2007/11/15 23:02 I am not too familiar with tablets, but this is what I would guess. If the tablet has a built in player to play your videos, you should "in theory" be able to bring up swisscenter from the tablet's browser and play them. It would be like bringing it up on a PC. The PC would play the video in its default video player. The only issue is streaming video over wireless is very unpredictable. You may experience some success, but more than likely the video will be very choppy and unwatchable. Popcorn Hour connected to Panny TH-50PX77U

A tablet is notebook that you can write on with a pen. Picture Captain Kirk signing his log

Not just theory, this will certainly work. However, I can't understand why someone would want to open a browser, then call up SwissCenter, then call up WMP etc when you could just jump right into the media player

Re: Stream with SC interface - 2007/11/16 14:18 I totally agree. He said it was for his kids so I'm thinking he wants it to be a kid friendly interface. I'm sure there is something out there, but again wireless streaming is painful Popcorn Hour connected to Panny TH-50PX77U
