Changeset 939 being Used - 2008/02/25 23:24 Re: Ticket 129

Testing the feature to add WMP playlists...

While Swiss does indeed recognize the WMP playlists. The playlist feature no longer works for me. It says that the playlist was successfullty loaded but then just says no playlist is defined.

The log shows the following error:

Unable to query database: Table 'swiss.radio_stations' doesn't exist

The Video playlists load fine.

Bug most likely introduced with Changeset 923 and can be reproduced on the PC.

Re: Changeset 939 being Used - 2008/03/06 16:20 Hi Rob...

The good news is that I am no longer seeing that error. The bad news is that the music playlists still aren't loading.

Here's a clip from the log where the playlist is requested:

Re: Changeset 939 being Used - 2008/03/06 18:01 It looks like the filename is getting slightly corrupted... there's a double slash in the filename in the SQL lines.

So, taking the first line from the playlist:

Code:

 [2008.03.06 16:09:58] [0] => \Music\Aerosmith\Greatest Hits\01 Dream On.mp3

Where is that file stored actually stored?
Is it in the swisscenter database?

Can you post the results of the following query please:

select * from mp3s where dirname like '%Aerosmith%Dream On%';

Re: Changeset 939 being Used - 2008/03/06 20:39 Sorry for the delay (tennis match)...

>>Where is that file stored actually stored?

My playlists are stored:

d:/music/my playlists

The music is stored:

d:/Music/Aerosmith/Greatest Hits/01 Dream On.mp3

In the SQL line per the log, the path before the // is the path to the playlist while the path after the // is the path to the music file.

>>>Is it in the swisscenter database?

Absolutely. I can select it as a single song and play it,

>>>Can you post the results of the following query please:

Certainly but where and how do I enter that query?

Thanks.

Re: Changeset 939 being Used - 2008/03/06 21:33 OK boss... my original m3u playlist looked like this:

#EXTINF:0,01 Dream On.mp3
\Music\Aerosmith\Greatest Hits\01 Dream On.mp3

Just for giggles, I changed it to this:

#EXTINF:0,01 Dream On.mp3
D:\Music\Aerosmith\Greatest Hits\01 Dream On.mp3

and it loaded fine.

Please note that with version 1.19.2 the old playlist worked fine. Something since requires the drive letter.

Edit later...

OK boss... my original wpl file looked like this:

<media src="\\Networkstorage\d\Music\Aerosmith\Greatest Hits\04 Walk This Way.mp3"

Changed to this and it loaded fine:

<media src="d:\Music\Aerosmith\Greatest Hits\04 Walk This Way.mp3"

I once again have working playlists. What you do with this information is up to you but as it stands now the new version of Swiss could break some existing playlists and it appears to me that wpl files will have to be modified to work. Neither those created on a network machine nor the host machine would load without modification.

Ooops. Check that.

The WPL files will work fine if created on the local host machine. Sorry.

Re: Changeset 939 being Used - 2008/03/23 11:06 OK boss... my original m3u playlist looked like this:

This is how it should work. Unless the entries in the playlist specify a drive letter or a share then they will be relative to the location of the playlist file.

In your original file, it is impossible to know which drive contains the "Music" directory. THerefore, it is (wrongly) taken to be relative to the playlist file.

In your updated file, it is an absolute path because it contains the drive letter. Therefore the location of the file is known and can be loaded.

Please note that with version 1.19.2 the old playlist worked fine. Something since requires the drive letter.
It shouldn't have worked before!

OK boss... my original wpl file looked like this:

Code:

 <media src="\\Networkstorage\d\Music\Aerosmith\Greatest Hits\4 Walk This Way.mp3"

Changed to this and it loaded fine:

Code:

 <media src="d:\Music\Aerosmith\Greatest Hits\4 Walk This Way.mp3"

Swisscenter didn't support share names as part of the playlists - it was assuming that they were relative paths as in the above example. However, I've fixed that now and share names should work in the next version.
