Simese anouncments to EVA700 - 2010/02/28 17:45 See to be having issues with the new simese 2.6.4 not anouncing itself to the EVA700s.

Works if i restart the service, but if the eva powers up after the server has started then it never apears on the services list until i restart the simese service when it instantly comes up on the list.

I guess that simese is sending out the udp anouncment when it starts up but is no longer doing it on a regualy basis? - or is this not how it works?

This is quite anoying as i am doing a lot of electrical work at the moment in the house, and my stupid RCD loves tripping out when you touch the neutral despite the live being isolated, and hence the system gets shut down from time to time, and when it restarst the server powers up much quicker than the EVA takes to boot

Re: Simese anouncments to EVA700 - 2010/03/07 07:14 It should be a continuously process which always runs. I tried to reproduce your results, but no luck so far.

Re: Simese anouncments to EVA700 - 2010/03/07 07:40 Marco,

Which OS do you use for testing? The announce issue is generally more common for Vista and Windows 7 users.

Re: Simese anouncments to EVA700 - 2010/03/07 08:09 That could be a difference, since I still use XP.

Re: Simese anouncments to EVA700 - 2010/03/07 18:53 I'm running Server 2003 - interestingly there is also a WD MyBookWorld running twonky also on the network (disused for some time) but there just because i can be bothered to copy the few remaining files over.

This popes up within seconds of switching on the EVA's. SC pops up within seconds of restarting the service on the server (if as before the server has come up before the EVAs

I have tried the same scenario without the WD MybookWorld pluged onto the network and the same thing happens, so I doubt this is to do with the network/players if twonky is poping up as soon as the eva is switched on.
