Re: Minimize CPU and RAM load, increase performance - 2009/01/30 11:12 Dutchsea

I am on ther same page as you with my LS PRO having only 128MB of RAM and the desire to use less power by remvion my PC based erver and levegrain fthe NAS.

Form a performace point of view the sewitch to lighttpd made a significant step improvment of page loading times and overall satisfaction foimr the wife . Even using the new Seeing Red Icon based style ( my current fav) ...

The only issue i am seeing is the oen wehave been dicussin re the hard reboot, once i get some tiem i wil do soem more debuggin with Rob/Nigel to see if it is aspecific section of the funcitlity that can be disabled.

Looking at the code it "may" be possible to not load as much php on each page if certian items are diasbled i.e. lasft.fm ,internt feasureres etc.... but i am not sure.

Not having a PCH i canncot say if it is any better or not on differnet players but i get the impression that PCH yusers aslo see some slonessd of the pages loading a result of the players not the server.

My 10p worth
Rob
