Banner is not sizing properly - 2009/03/06 11:54When using Watch TV, I am not getting the proper scaling on the banner. It is shifting to the right and about 1/3 is off the screen. Also, it is behind the text which makes the text hard to read. This is only happening on the PCH and not using a PC browser.Server: Windows Server 2008 Standard, Athlon XP +3200, 512MB RAM, 1.2TB RAID3 + 2TB USB Storage Player1: Popcorn Hour A-110 (HDMI), Panasonic TH-50PX77U, Yamaha RX-V863 AVR Player2: Popcorn Hour A-100 (HDMI), Samsung 40" LCD Player3: BuffaloLT, Sharp 26" LCD

Re: Banner is not sizing properly - 2009/03/06 12:06This is definitely a PCH problem. I checked on my Buffalo LinkTheater and it looks as good as it can (doesn't render high res very well). Therefore, it looks fine on the BLT and through a PC browser, but is too big on PCH. I am using the latest SVN.Server: Windows Server 2008 Standard, Athlon XP +3200, 512MB RAM, 1.2TB RAID3 + 2TB USB Storage Player1: Popcorn Hour A-110 (HDMI), Panasonic TH-50PX77U, Yamaha RX-V863 AVR Player2: Popcorn Hour A-100 (HDMI), Samsung 40" LCD Player3: BuffaloLT, Sharp 26" LCD

Re: Banner is not sizing properly - 2009/03/06 12:14A scaling problem is usually because Swiss thinks the target player is something it is not. Under clients discoverd, does it have the correct information for the PCH?
I think re-bootimg the PCH (unplug it) will cause Swiss to re-discover it.
Otherwise, it is possible that you have the PCH set to "auto" for your television resolution under setup. If this is the case, set the TV to the proper setting like 720p 50hz or whatever is correct for you.Showcenters 1000g/250HD/Popcorn Hour A-100 Netgear HDX101 Powerline Adapters Windows XP SP3 Simese 2.6.4 Beta SwissCenter latest SVN NAS Server Intel PD 2.66Ghz/2GB Mem/1.5TB Storage Hauppauge HVR 1600 GB-PVR

Re: Banner is not sizing properly - 2009/03/06 12:20I believe this is the PCH:
Syabas/01-17-090116-15-POP-402-000/15-POP Firefox/0.8.0+ (gaya1 TV Res1920x1280; Browser Res1100x656-32bits; Res1280x720; mac_addr=00:06:dc:42:26:af)
I tried rebooting the PCH and it is not on auto. The problem is still there. It is only happening with the banner.
Any other suggestions?Server: Windows Server 2008 Standard, Athlon XP +3200, 512MB RAM, 1.2TB RAID3 + 2TB USB Storage Player1: Popcorn Hour A-110 (HDMI), Panasonic TH-50PX77U, Yamaha RX-V863 AVR Player2: Popcorn Hour A-100 (HDMI), Samsung 40" LCD Player3: BuffaloLT, Sharp 26" LCD

For instance, my TV doesn't have this problem.
I guess the only solution then is for him to turn off the TV banner option.Showcenters 1000g/250HD/Popcorn Hour A-100 Netgear HDX101 Powerline Adapters Windows XP SP3 Simese 2.6.4 Beta SwissCenter latest SVN NAS Server Intel PD 2.66Ghz/2GB Mem/1.5TB Storage Hauppauge HVR 1600 GB-PVR

Re: Banner is not sizing properly - 2009/03/06 12:57That's interesting.. why does it only affect some? Don't know. We don't have a HD screen to test with. Maybe it's related to how the TV is connected to the PCH (HDMI or component) and which Video settings are selected.Players : Netgear EVA700 | Popcorn A-100 (091202) | Popcorn A-200 (100208) Webserver : Simese v2.6.4 | Apache 2.2.14 | PHP v5.2.12 | MySQL v5.1.32 Server : Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Spec : Intel C2Q Q6600 - 4GB RAM - 3TB HDD AV : Pioneer VSX-915 | Samsung LE40C650

Re: Banner is not sizing properly - 2009/03/06 12:59Hakras..
On the PCH is your TV set for 1080p or 720p.. I'm just curious if this is a 1080p thing (my HDTVs are both 720p).Showcenters 1000g/250HD/Popcorn Hour A-100 Netgear HDX101 Powerline Adapters Windows XP SP3 Simese 2.6.4 Beta SwissCenter latest SVN NAS Server Intel PD 2.66Ghz/2GB Mem/1.5TB Storage Hauppauge HVR 1600 GB-PVR

Re: Banner is not sizing properly - 2009/03/06 14:46The PCH is set to HDMI 1080p/60. Then it goes to a Yamaha RX-V863 AVR which is also set to 1080p. Then is goes to a Panny TH-50PX77U via HDMI. The display accepts 1080p but the actual rez is 720p (768p).
I remember a similar issue when the PCH first came out. It was related to the background. Here is a link: background too big on PCH
Obviously, this has been corrected because now all backgrounds look fine. I am wondering if a similar fix is needed for the banners.Server: Windows Server 2008 Standard, Athlon XP +3200, 512MB RAM, 1.2TB RAID3 + 2TB USB Storage Player1: Popcorn Hour A-110 (HDMI), Panasonic TH-50PX77U, Yamaha RX-V863 AVR Player2: Popcorn Hour A-100 (HDMI), Samsung 40" LCD Player3: BuffaloLT, Sharp 26" LCD

I'm lucky since I use niether. I'm curious if stepping it down to 720p would cure it but the solution is probably just to shut off the banners.Showcenters 1000g/250HD/Popcorn Hour A-100 Netgear HDX101 Powerline Adapters Windows XP SP3 Simese 2.6.4 Beta SwissCenter latest SVN NAS Server Intel PD 2.66Ghz/2GB Mem/1.5TB Storage Hauppauge HVR 1600 GB-PVR

Re: Banner is not sizing properly - 2009/03/06 15:53I am pretty sure I went through this with the background problem as well and changing the rez only made the problem worse. Since the background is working correctly, is it possible that it is the way the banners are sent to the PCH (incorret rez)?Server: Windows Server 2008 Standard, Athlon XP +3200, 512MB RAM, 1.2TB RAID3 + 2TB USB Storage Player1: Popcorn Hour A-110 (HDMI), Panasonic TH-50PX77U, Yamaha RX-V863 AVR Player2: Popcorn Hour A-100 (HDMI), Samsung 40" LCD Player3: BuffaloLT, Sharp 26" LCD

Re: Banner is not sizing properly - 2009/03/06 16:14I know the issue is the way the PCH is reporting itself to Swisscenter:
Syabas/01-17-090116-15-POP-402-000/15-POP Firefox/0.8.0+ (gaya1 TV Res1920x1280; Browser Res1100x656-32bits; Res1280x720; mac_addr=00:06:dc:42:26:af)
The 1920x1280 should be 1920x1080. Is there a way to set a flag in Swisscenter so that when it is sent the resolution 1920x1280 it will automatically display 1920x1080?
I am surprised that a firmware update from PCH hasn't resolved this yet Server: Windows Server 2008 Standard, Athlon XP +3200, 512MB RAM, 1.2TB RAID3 + 2TB USB Storage Player1: Popcorn Hour A-110 (HDMI), Panasonic TH-50PX77U, Yamaha RX-V863 AVR Player2: Popcorn Hour A-100 (HDMI), Samsung 40" LCD Player3: BuffaloLT, Sharp 26" LCD

Re: Banner is not sizing properly - 2009/03/06 16:17is it possible that it is the way the banners are sent to the PCH (incorret rez)? I have no idea (maybe someone else does)...
Here is my client:
Syabas/01-17-090116-15-POP-402-000/15-POP Firefox/0.8.0+ (gaya1 TV Res1280x720; Browser Res1100x656-32bits; Res1280x720; mac_addr=00:06:dc:42:1f:ce)
It is exactly right.
Here is yours:
Syabas/01-17-090116-15-POP-402-000/15-POP Firefox/0.8.0+ (gaya1 TV Res1920x1280; Browser Res1100x656-32bits; Res1280x720; mac_addr=00:06:dc:42:26:af)
The error in yours is that 1920x1280 should be 1920x1080. Somebody screwed up somewhere. Can Swiss compensate for the error, I have no idea.Showcenters 1000g/250HD/Popcorn Hour A-100 Netgear HDX101 Powerline Adapters Windows XP SP3 Simese 2.6.4 Beta SwissCenter latest SVN NAS Server Intel PD 2.66Ghz/2GB Mem/1.5TB Storage Hauppauge HVR 1600 GB-PVR

Re: Banner is not sizing properly - 2009/03/06 17:06I am going to try the background fix and see if that helps.
Basically, I am going to go into screen.php and change:
I'll see if that helps. Re: Banner is not sizing properly - 2009/03/06 17:58That seems to be a temporary work around. The main screen looks good and the banners and folder art look good. The only issue I had was on the Watch a Video backgound. It looked a bit big. Kind of weird since the main screen and TV Episode screens looked good. BTW, I'm using the Black Light skin.
If anyone else is going to try this, I'll tell you ahead of time that using 1920x1080 does not give desirable results (everything looks huge).Server: Windows Server 2008 Standard, Athlon XP +3200, 512MB RAM, 1.2TB RAID3 + 2TB USB Storage Player1: Popcorn Hour A-110 (HDMI), Panasonic TH-50PX77U, Yamaha RX-V863 AVR Player2: Popcorn Hour A-100 (HDMI), Samsung 40" LCD Player3: BuffaloLT, Sharp 26" LCD

Re: Banner is not sizing properly - 2009/05/18 10:54Is there a proper fix for this issue? I've just installed Windows 7 on my server and lost whatever 'fix' I implemented a while back. Problem is I can't remember exactly what I did but I know it wasn't the change suggested here by hakras as I've still got a backup of my old C drive and that change isn't in the screen.php file. I've searched around but can't find any other suggestions.
